This website was kind of a last-minute idea, so I'll be working on it over Christmas. How last-minute? I thought up the name while driving home on Tuesday night, and was too busy working on the video itself to spend any real time on the site.

Check back during the week between Christmas and New Years Eve.

Email me until January 1, 2009 at treegee2k8@treegee.com (check back for a new address after that).

Q. Where can I buy these?
A. You can't. Well, OK... if Steve Wozniak offered me a job, I'd probably say "yes!" Otherwise, you'll just have to hope I attract the interest of someone at Nuts & Volts, Circuit Cellar, or Make magazine, and end up writing some magazine articles telling YOU how to build some for yourself.

I'm toying with the idea of taking orders and having a batch of light modules made somewhere like China this summer, so all you'd have to do is braid the wires and string them up. The current design uses parts that are all surface mouted, but reasonably hand-solderable. I do have a few panels of circuit boards I might be willing to sell.
Q. Why is the video & sound quality so bad?
A. Piece of junk Aiptek ActionHD with awful autofocus and no way to disable it. Mid-afternoon Christmas Eve, Parents expecting me 100 miles away for dinner in 3 hours, clock ticking. Netbook hopelessly inadequate for video-editing. Don't worry, a better video with some new enhancements at the end (you can probably tell I ran out of time, and just had to extend the last effect I finished all the way to the end of the song) is coming in just a few days.
Q. What's "TreeGee"?
A. A bad pun on "3-G" and the anticipated reaction of people upon seeing it ("Gee!")
